The Creation Myth of Sundara
It is said that in the Begining, the world was thought into being by the Great Sleeper, a being who dreamt the realm, the kingdoms, the animals, the plants, the people, and even the monsters. Every creature in Sundara resembles some aspect of the Great Sleeper in some way shape or form.
However, where there are dreams there are also Nightmares. Three Nightmares learned of their fate and that their existence is that of a dream on a sleeper's eye. The Nightmares decided to take their own fate into their own hands and so they devised a way to weave a power spell over the Great Sleeper so that he would eternally slumber. In order to ensure that the spell would remain in place for eternity the Nightmares then constructed the Loom of Fate that would enforce the spell and keep them in control of the realm.
In the begining magic was abundant and flowed into all things but once the Great Sleeper was put into his stasis magic began to sunder from the land slowly evaporating until there was little to none left in existence. Now in the current day of age, Magic has slowly begun to weave itself back into the existence of the realm. It is a mere echo of what it once was but is still a force to be reckoned with.
There are those who view the return of magic as a wonderful event that will ultimately lead to a revival of sorts of the old ways. However there are also those who view the return of magic as a sign that the Great Sleepers grow nearer to waking from his suposed eternal slumber.
